Content

The Content criterion evaluates how well the student addresses the task requirements. It focuses on whether all parts of the task have been answered and whether the ideas are relevant.

What It Measures

  • Has the student answered all parts of the task?
  • Are the ideas relevant to the topic and task type?
  • Is the response complete, or are important points missing?
  • Does the student show understanding of the purpose of the task?

What a High Score Looks Like

A student scoring well on Content will:

  • Address every point in the task instructions
  • Include relevant and well-developed ideas
  • Stay focused on the topic without going off track
  • Show that they understand what the task is asking them to do

Common Areas for Improvement

  • Missing task points — the student didn’t address all parts of the question
  • Off-topic content — ideas that don’t relate to the task
  • Underdeveloped ideas — points mentioned but not explained or supported
  • Misunderstanding the task — the response doesn’t match what was asked

Tips for Students

  • Read the task instructions carefully before writing
  • Make sure to address every point mentioned in the task
  • Plan your response before you start — list the key points you want to cover
  • After writing, check that you haven’t missed any part of the task
