For StudentsSubmitting Work

Submitting Work

When your teacher assigns you a writing task, you’ll receive an email with a link to submit your work. Here’s how the submission process works.

Step by Step

  1. Check your email — look for an email from Penmate with the subject containing your assignment title
  2. Click the submission link — this takes you directly to your personal submission page
  3. Read the task instructions — the assignment details are shown at the top of the page, including the task type, word range, and deadline
  4. Write your text — type your response directly in the text editor on the page
  5. Check the word count — the word counter at the bottom shows how many words you’ve written. Aim to stay within the suggested word range.
  6. Submit — when you’re happy with your work, click Submit

Important Things to Know

  • Deadline — you must submit before the deadline set by your teacher. After the deadline passes, you will no longer be able to submit.
  • Word count — try to write within the suggested word range. Writing significantly fewer or more words than expected may affect your score.
  • One submission — once you submit, your work is final. Make sure to proofread before clicking Submit.
  • No account needed — you don’t need to log in or create an account. The link in your email is unique to you.

After Submitting

Once you submit your work:

  • Your teacher is notified that you’ve submitted
  • Penmate evaluates your writing automatically
  • You’ll see your results with scores and feedback
