Group Analysis
Group analysis is a premium feature that provides a statistical overview of how an entire group of students performed on the same task. Instead of reviewing each submission individually, you get an aggregated view of the group’s strengths and weaknesses.
Requirements
To use group analysis, you need:
- A work group with at least 3 evaluated submissions — the analysis requires enough data points to generate meaningful statistics
- The group analysis feature must be enabled for your organization
What Group Analysis Shows
When you run a group analysis, you receive:
- Score statistics for each criterion — average, minimum, and maximum scores across all students
- Overall group performance — how the group performed as a whole
- Common strengths — patterns of what the group does well
- Common areas for improvement — patterns of where the group struggles
- Score distribution — how scores are spread across the group
How to Use It
- Open a work group that has at least 3 evaluated submissions
- Click Group Analysis
- Review the aggregated results
Practical Applications
- Lesson planning — if most students score low on Organisation, plan a lesson on paragraph structure and linking devices
- Report cards — use group statistics to support end-of-term reporting
- Parent meetings — show data-backed evidence of class performance
- Identifying outliers — spot students who are significantly above or below the group average
